Fireflies are so cool, they emit a glow, what scientist call a “cold light”. 100% of the energy is emitted as light without producing heat. Fireflies talk to each other with these light flashes, sometimes to mark territory or warn predators away, but mostly to attract mates.

Monique J Dufour is a Canadian self-taught artist based in Spain, who has exhibited her work throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. Whilst on a trip to France in 2013, she picked up a paintbrush and never looked back, now busying herself daily with her luminous, intriguing abstract compositions.
