About this artwork
Conversion is one of the sculptures of a new artistic research by the sculptor.
The artist tends towards the simplicity of forms to focus attention on the presence of the subject represented. The artist is not inspired by a living model but will seek in an imaginary face a deep gaze, mirror of a soul, story of a human story... a bodily movement carried towards a transforming momentum, a tension liberating, this woman lives a spiritual change and… invites the observer to feel the force of Grace...

« The sculptor who lets herself be guided by the material will discover a secret about herself, making her own life a work of art, bridging the individual and the universal. »
Myriam de Lafforest is an award-winning sculptor based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, and England. For her,
Sculpture is a bridge between "being and lived experience." Furthermore, De Lafforest likens the artistic process to a mirror, in which an inner reality is suggested. His pieces are created in clay, then cast in bronze using the lost-wax technique.
Known for her figurative bronze sculptures, imbued with an intensity that is both embodied and spiritual, she now extends this language into painting, which she approaches as a surrealist and symbolic writing, emerging from the depths of dreams and the unconscious.
