About this artwork
It's funny where an artist might get inspiration for a painting. We can get our inspiration from anywhere. In this case, I got the inspiration from a sunset in a movie. The movie was about a young couple sailing from Tahiti to California. The couple kept referring to the sunset as "red." Any artist knows that there is always more than one color to anything, especially a sunset.
The sunset in the movie was the inspiration for "Sailor's Delight."… The title is inspired by the old saying:
Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailor's warning
This painting is a diptych, or two paintings that create one image. Together, it measures 11" x 30". It will be sold both unmatted and unframed.
