About this artwork
This painting is a recreation of an older sunrise painting. That painting was painted right before I had surgery on my eyes. I didn’t realize how poor it looked until I recuperated. I have been wanting to paint over it for sometime now and I finally found the time to do that recently.
High Desert Sunrise falls into the category of a mixed media painting. While the majority of the painting is watercolor, I used “ground” for the snow and India ink… for the tree.
This is a scene of a sunrise that I caught right outside my front door. However, the painting looks far different than the reference photo.
This painting is neither matted nor framed. I highly recommend that you speak to your framer about using a floating mat for this painting. That way, you can find a mat that can contrast this painting.
This painting would make a nice addition to your home or office.
