About this artwork
This painting was inspired by a beautiful winter sunrise outside of my home. I was struck by the contrast of the black trees against the rising sun, as well as the incredible colors this sunrise was producing.
Watercolor art lends itself nicely to pen and ink so I decided to use them for the trees. Using pen and ink helps to create the black contrast against the sunrise.
Also, making this painting a diptych (or 2 paintings that create one image)… made sense to me to extend the trees and their lengthy branches.
Both of these paintings are matted and ready for frames. They would nice in their own frame hanging next to each other. Please see the image of them in a room. This diptych would like in either your home or office.
