About this artwork

This one came right after 'AI without the A'. Yes, I have always been inspired by the great and tragic Rothko. But of course I put my own spin on it. Essentially a vertical land- or seascape, the 3 rectangles are the main focus. There is a certain kind of roughness to this creation, hence the name...

In this painting, I've merged the vividity of acrylics with the smoothness of latex to craft a textural dance on canvas. Integrating geometric balance… with symbolic depth, each shape offers a gateway to different emotional interpretations. Influenced by oriental art, these forms in bright, contrasting colors create a semi-abstract narrative that invites viewers into a serene yet dynamic emotional landscape.
This artwork aims to radiate warmth and clarity, bringing a revitalizing energy into any space it inhabits.

At the age 16 Nartana enrolled in the 'Fachoberschule fuer Gestaltung', followed by Fachhochschule fuer visuelle Kommunikation. in Aachen, his hometown. Nartana left Germany and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, eventually establishing himself as an artist and member of the Counsel or the Arts and the Society of Artists in Santa Fe, New Mexico and for the last 18 years living in Thailand.
