In crafting this piece, I dived deep into the juxtaposition of serenity and vibrant vitality. I wanted a no- flat surface to begin with. So thin paper was applied onto the canvas, heavily varnished to make it hard and durable. in addition I wanted to really only use 2 colors. Blue and gold. (in many different shades)
It took dozens of thin layers to be what it is. A somewhat organic looking piece with 2 soft rectangles. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics....

At the age 16 Nartana enrolled in the 'Fachoberschule fuer Gestaltung', followed by Fachhochschule fuer visuelle Kommunikation. in Aachen, his hometown. Nartana left Germany and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, eventually establishing himself as an artist and member of the Counsel or the Arts and the Society of Artists in Santa Fe, New Mexico and for the last 18 years living in Thailand.
