About this artwork
In this work, I use protective symbols from Ukrainian embroidered blouses (vyshyvanka). These symbols have been passed down through generations – not as decoration, but as bearers of protection, memory, and inner order.
The reduced black and white represents the visible, clear contrasts, and apparent clarity. I contrast this with a protective field: a level that is invisible but remains effective. The symbols mark a space beyond the obvious – a… place where protection is not seen but felt.
My work refers to the invisible and to the idea that reality encompasses more than what we can perceive with our eyes.
