About this artwork
Twin I and Twin II complement each other. Two images, formed in the same way and yet different in the end result. Placed on top of each other in the fluid medium and individually complemented. Just like with identical twins: very similar and of the same shape in their way and yet often very different and unique. The special thing about this two-piece suit: The net was made by the drip & drop technique: thread is dipped in gold color and then… gradually laid on top of each other to form a pattern. When it dries, it forms a golden web with splashes of color in the middle.
A work that is also reminiscent of a turbulent sea. Raging and mighty, passionate with a web in the middle and small golden sparks reflecting the light on the water.
« I see my painting process as healing my own soul through the liberation from convention and limitation. The end product heals and releases other souls. »
