About this artwork
Acrylic and pumice paste on a mini canvas, the surface is quite rough.
This series of paintings came about because the artist was invited to participate in an exhibition where each artist displayed a large scale painting and a mini painting alongside, like a satellite. The artist didn't realise quite how small the mini canvas would be and when it arrived in the post she was quite dumbfounded as to what to do with it. Until she realised that the… best solution would be to do a painting about small things, obvious really.
Anyway, after doing the first small painting she kept on thinking about other small things and so had to buy a whole box of mini canvases to put the ideas on.
