About this artwork
The work "Roboreus" on paper combines collage, drawing and painting into a multi-layered composition. The title comes from a collage element from an antiquarian Latin dictionary and refers to the meaning of strength and resilience.
Dominant black shapes, complemented by bold blue accents, give the work a powerful dynamic. Curved lines, fine hatching and organic structures create an interplay between stability and movement. The fragmented text passages… of the collage add a historical and semantic dimension.
The interplay of expressive drawing, painterly elements and collage invites individual interpretation and addresses the connection between energy, structure and transformation.
