This original limestone sculpture is one of the latest artworks by the Bulgarian professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov. In this sculpture, he embraces the raw, rugged essence of stone to reveal a hidden human presence beneath nature's surface. The bold face emerging from rough texture symbolizes resilience and the enduring spirit within. Placing it outdoors invites viewers to reflect on strength and vulnerability, as the piece harmonizes with its… natural surroundings, radiating timeless energy and power.
« Sculpture is my main way of thinking, my method of communication, my way of living... »
Ognyan Chitakov is an established Bulgarian sculptor whose works have featured in national prizes and exhibitions. He loves sculpture for all the elements it allows him to gather together: form, space, function, architecture, design, engineering, technology and - above all - art. He primarily produces stone works that carry ancient and sacred connections, and whose scale ranges from the modest to the monumental.
