This original conglomerate sculpture on red granite stand is one of the latest artworks of the skillful Bulgarian contemporary professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov, presenting an unique contemporary look and skills at carving fine art portraiture in solid stone, deeply inspired by postmodernism, naturalism and abstract expressionism. In his creation, he has poured raw emotion into stone, sculpting a visage that defies the ages. Gazing upon it, one… feels the silent strength and timeless resolve emanating from this stony countenance. It stands as a testament to resilience, a beacon that inspires fortitude and anchors the room with the gravity of mythology and history. The sculptor's hands have shaped not just a sculpture, but a piece of his spirit, intended to stir the soul of any onlooker.
« Sculpture is my main way of thinking, my method of communication, my way of living... »
Ognyan Chitakov is an established Bulgarian sculptor whose works have featured in national prizes and exhibitions. He loves sculpture for all the elements it allows him to gather together: form, space, function, architecture, design, engineering, technology and - above all - art. He primarily produces stone works that carry ancient and sacred connections, and whose scale ranges from the modest to the monumental.
