About this artwork
I was inspired by "Swan Lake", one of the most famous and acclaimed ballets of the 19th century, set to music by Piotr Ilych Tchaikovsky. It embodies romance, virtuosity, elegance and imagination. I was very involved in imagining the portrait of Princess Odette who, due to the spell of a jealous magician, transforms into a white swan during the day. But one night she meets Prince Siegfried who falls in love with her. In the creation of this work,…
I poured my soul into the oil, giving life to an expression of fine art that embodies realism and figurativism. Passion transcends the painting, inviting the viewer to explore the emotional depth of the subjects, captured in a moment of intense connection. Their embrace, enveloping and charged, transcends the visible, inspiring those who observe to seek beauty in their emotional relationships.

Paola Imposimato is an award-winning painter and draftsman whose works have been extensively exhibited throughout her native Italy, as well as in Austria and France. She defines her artistic style as "contemporary Renaissance", as it has a solid figurative base that is also structured on Greco-Roman art. Imposimato is often inspired by portraiture (of real and imaginary characters), the range of human emotions, poetry, historical re-enactments, the world of music and theater.
