These red dahlias bloom every year in my garden outside my kitchen window. I love this vibrant, joyful color that gives it swing.
In this work, I captured the dynamics of red dahlias, using the rich texture of oil to convey my passion for flowers. Touches of color executed with a knife breathe life and movement, while the light sculpts each petal. It is a celebration of nature and its ephemeral beauty, inviting contemplation and wonder at the work… of Mother Nature.
