About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the essence of everyday beauty, that found in the simplicity of a still life. I used pastels for their softness and their ability to create subtle shades. Realism and symbolism mingle here, each element - the fruit, the pitcher, the Saint Louis crystal glass, the fabric - tells a story of texture, light and time.
