About this artwork
I painted the first layer in washes using inks made from plants I gathered on walks in the forest. Then, inspired by Leonardo's writings (who observed the stains on his walls), I let the image of an imaginary portrait come to me. Thus, like a dream, the portrait emerged from my brushstrokes dipped in oil paints, covering a few traces of matter left by the tree leaves.
