About this artwork
Here I present a painting that took me a long time to create in several stages, so I mixed techniques. I approached the composition by starting with a collage and numerous retouches, like a palimpsest: drawing, then erasing, then letting the painting "simmer" and returning to it a few years later to add light with gesso, paint, and oil pastels.
