About this artwork
I channeled passion and energy into this work (homage to guitarist David Gilmour), using acrylic and sand to infuse texture and depth. The earthy colors and dynamic shapes express movement and convey a sense of emotional freedom, suggesting a figure touched by creative ardor. Its place in the home evokes energy and inspiration, inviting the observer to get lost in the expressive and figurative details.
Pasquale Rapicano, born in Castellammare di Stabia, skilfully combines materials such as sand, iron, paper and jute with acrylic painting in his multi-material works. He uses rust as a distinctive element, a metaphor for damage to the world, alternating human and animal figures, in an incessant building and demolishing worlds. His works, full of exalted details, convey a whirlwind of emotions, from visceral torment over contemporary society to the suggestion of moments captured through facial expressions.
