About this artwork
In my work (homage to Jimi Hendrix), I explored the depths of the human soul, immortalizing the looks that tell unexpressed stories. I used acrylics, sand and objects to create an evocative surface that defies time, a bridge between the erosive past and present resilience. Each stroke reflects an emotional journey, while the figurative becomes the vehicle for raw and visceral expression. In this canvas, I bring energy and pathos into your home, evoking… silent dialogues between the observer and the essence of humanity portrayed.
Pasquale Rapicano, born in Castellammare di Stabia, skilfully combines materials such as sand, iron, paper and jute with acrylic painting in his multi-material works. He uses rust as a distinctive element, a metaphor for damage to the world, alternating human and animal figures, in an incessant building and demolishing worlds. His works, full of exalted details, convey a whirlwind of emotions, from visceral torment over contemporary society to the suggestion of moments captured through facial expressions.
