About this artwork
Animated hologram (stereogram) in dichromate gelatine on glass. Hologram gives a few seconds of animation as you walk past it. This series of holograms was inspired by Vertov, the Russian cinematographer and his film "Man with a movie Camera" The original footage was recorded at Paddington Station in the U.K. The first holograms made in my studio in Wales and the dichromate copy was made in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Patrick Boyd is a photographer and sculptor based in the United Kingdom who has exhibited his works nationally, in the United States and France. Having taken up photography in his adolescence, his current compositions are mainly figurative and focus on portraiture. Creating in series, Boyd's diverse works are inspired by imaginary micro universes, the current pandemic, as well as Russian cinematographer Dziga Vertov.
