A Poetic Convergence: Geometry, Gesture and Contemplation:
This work is based on a deep kinship with Messiaen's prelude, not only by the title but by a shared sensitivity to fleetingness and contemplation.
The rigorous geometric structure evokes Messiaen's harmonic constructions, where each chord exists as a colored entity.
The notion of "reflection" implies a duality, an image that is doubled without ever being identical to its origin. Here,… the elements reflect and respond to each other: the two gestural zones (upper left, lower right) form a dialogue, like the pianist's hands responding to one another. The "wind" connects them, transforms them, makes them shimmer differently.
This work visually embodies what Messiaen expressed in music: the contemplation of a fleeting moment, where order meets chaos, where structure welcomes the unpredictable, where suspended time vibrates with a mysterious presence.

Originally from the tranquil scenery of Switzerland, Patrick Piccinelli set forth on an enriching academic journey that took him to the distinguished corridors of ECAL (University of Art and Design, Lausanne, Switzerland), a stronghold of artistic brilliance on the global frontier. The respected tradition of flawless typography for which Switzerland is famed, coupled with the deep-seated influences of Swiss graphic design, known for its austere, minimalistic, and refined aesthetics, significantly guided Piccinelli’s artistic path. His palette is firmly rooted in geometric minimalism, a stylistic reverberation reminiscent of the illustrious “Zürich movement.” This era of artistic zeal was pioneered by notable figures such as Max Bill, Richard Paul Lohse, and Verena Loewenberg, luminaries who were the frontrunners of geometric or constructed artistry. His works have recently been acquired by collectors in the United States, Japan and Europe.
