This work, composed on various high-quality papers, includes collages and painting.
I created this artwork using artist-grade acrylic paint on archival-quality paper (Arches 300 g/m2).
In Berlin, under the rain, posters take on a new dimension. The colors, saturated by the humidity, seem to vibrate. The slightly warped paper gives the impression of a living painting, constantly altered by the elements. The collages, made from paper extracted from… the influential magazine Art Forum, feature typography that serves as a visual reminder of what one can see in the city streets. I must say that I am literally fascinated by these random compositions, especially those resulting from unauthorized poster campaigns!
On some walls, the posters may be damaged by humidity, peeling off in places or becoming mixed with layers of graffiti. This creates an almost painterly texture that becomes a work of art in itself.

Originally from the tranquil scenery of Switzerland, Patrick Piccinelli set forth on an enriching academic journey that took him to the distinguished corridors of ECAL (University of Art and Design, Lausanne, Switzerland), a stronghold of artistic brilliance on the global frontier. The respected tradition of flawless typography for which Switzerland is famed, coupled with the deep-seated influences of Swiss graphic design, known for its austere, minimalistic, and refined aesthetics, significantly guided Piccinelli’s artistic path. His palette is firmly rooted in geometric minimalism, a stylistic reverberation reminiscent of the illustrious “Zürich movement.” This era of artistic zeal was pioneered by notable figures such as Max Bill, Richard Paul Lohse, and Verena Loewenberg, luminaries who were the frontrunners of geometric or constructed artistry. His works have recently been acquired by collectors in the United States, Japan and Europe.
