This work on paper was produced with several media: acrylic aerosols, collage. The clean, minimalist aesthetic of the advertisements of the Saint-Laurent Paris brand inspires Piccinelli. For this reason, he decided to integrate the typography of this Parisian fashion house into his collages.
For the artist, the geometric shapes form an uncluttered and calm space. The composition, limited to three colors (blue,… white and black) is an ideal setting for this "dance of orange" to flourish. For Piccinelli, laying down these orange traces in this virgin space is like walking at dawn in a field covered by snow that fell during the night. It's venturing into the unknown with an intense feeling of freedom!
The Orange Dance conveys a sense of constant movement, progression and transformation. It is a color that inspires action, risk-taking and the desire to surpass oneself.

Originally from the tranquil scenery of Switzerland, Patrick Piccinelli set forth on an enriching academic journey that took him to the distinguished corridors of ECAL (University of Art and Design, Lausanne, Switzerland), a stronghold of artistic brilliance on the global frontier. The respected tradition of flawless typography for which Switzerland is famed, coupled with the deep-seated influences of Swiss graphic design, known for its austere, minimalistic, and refined aesthetics, significantly guided Piccinelli’s artistic path. His palette is firmly rooted in geometric minimalism, a stylistic reverberation reminiscent of the illustrious “Zürich movement.” This era of artistic zeal was pioneered by notable figures such as Max Bill, Richard Paul Lohse, and Verena Loewenberg, luminaries who were the frontrunners of geometric or constructed artistry. His works have recently been acquired by collectors in the United States, Japan and Europe.
