Cette manière de dessiner "sans filet" sans prévoir le résultat final est très proche de l'improvisation pratiquée par les musiciens de jazz. C'est une musique que Patrick Piccinelli écoute, particulièrement le jazz contemporain des années 70 à nos jours.
La composition géométrique avec ses contours précisément délimités est analogue au… rythme et à la composition dans un morceau de jazz. Et c'est finalement dans cette composition, dans cet ordre que l'artiste dessine, avec la liberté de l'improvisateur.
Dans la zone colorée, le peintre a recouvert à gauche et à droite le bleu indigo, le rouge et le bleu cyan avec une couche de blanc de titane adoucissant ainsi la composition géométrique tout en la laissant apparaître.
Blanc de titane, bleu de prusse, bleu de cobalt, bleu indigo, rouge de cadmium clair, paintmarker noir.

Originally from the tranquil scenery of Switzerland, Patrick Piccinelli set forth on an enriching academic journey that took him to the distinguished corridors of ECAL (University of Art and Design, Lausanne, Switzerland), a stronghold of artistic brilliance on the global frontier. The respected tradition of flawless typography for which Switzerland is famed, coupled with the deep-seated influences of Swiss graphic design, known for its austere, minimalistic, and refined aesthetics, significantly guided Piccinelli’s artistic path. His palette is firmly rooted in geometric minimalism, a stylistic reverberation reminiscent of the illustrious “Zürich movement.” This era of artistic zeal was pioneered by notable figures such as Max Bill, Richard Paul Lohse, and Verena Loewenberg, luminaries who were the frontrunners of geometric or constructed artistry. His works have recently been acquired by collectors in the United States, Japan and Europe.
