About this artwork
On a deep, solid, almost velvety blue, the material bursts forth forcefully. Gold is not just color but a living substance: it accumulates, ripples, and breaks into reliefs that capture the light and reflect it back with ever-changing intensity.
The glass flakes emerge from the surface like precious fragments, creating unexpected reflections and a luminous pattern that changes with every movement of the eye. The painting thus becomes three-dimensional:… drips, thicknesses, and fractures construct an abstract landscape that seems to arise from a primordial gesture.
The contrast between the pure blue of the background and the preciousness of the gold generates a powerful visual tension, while the glass fragments introduce a luminous vibration that makes the work alive, almost pulsating.
More than a simple painted surface, the work presents itself as a territory to be explored: an encounter between light, material and gesture, where painting and sculpture merge into a single, fascinating presence.
Patrizia Cognetti uses material painting as her preferred medium, developing her training independently and instinctively, far from academic norms.
His technique is based on layers of dense color, enriched with bright hues and gold and silver inserts, which capture the light and make each work vibrant and ever-changing.
With a sensorial and emotional style, his works evoke depth, intimacy and a profound sense of inner recognition.
