About this artwork
On a deep, solid, almost velvety blue, the material bursts forth forcefully. Gold is not just color but a living substance: it accumulates, ripples, and breaks into reliefs that capture the light and reflect it back with ever-changing intensity.
The glass flakes emerge from the surface like precious fragments, creating unexpected reflections and a luminous pattern that changes with every movement of the eye. The painting thus becomes three-dimensional:… drips, thicknesses, and fractures construct an abstract landscape that seems to arise from a primordial gesture.
The contrast between the pure blue of the background and the preciousness of the gold generates a powerful visual tension, while the glass fragments introduce a luminous vibration that makes the work alive, almost pulsating.
