About this artwork
It's a work that sucks you in.
Against a deep, almost abysmal green background, a turquoise vortex unfolds, rotating with controlled energy, like a primordial force rising from the center and expanding. It's not a chaotic movement: it's a conscious, powerful, almost divine motion.
The textured gold clings to the vortex's curves like precious lava, creating luminous fractures that capture the light and render it vibrant and alive. In some places,… it drips, breaks, and becomes pure matter. Beneath, the intense blue emerges like a liquid, deep, almost mythological shadow.
“Vortex in Olympus” seems to recount the moment when energy and divinity meet: it is a cosmic whirlwind, but also a human, instinctive, physical gesture.
It's a painting that speaks of strength, transformation, and the light born from movement. You don't just look at it: you enter into it.
Patrizia Cognetti uses material painting as her preferred medium, developing her training independently and instinctively, far from academic norms.
His technique is based on layers of dense color, enriched with bright hues and gold and silver inserts, which capture the light and make each work vibrant and ever-changing.
With a sensorial and emotional style, his works evoke depth, intimacy and a profound sense of inner recognition.
