"Through years of working with and photographing transgender individuals, I have seen the hardships they endure, particularly in heavily religious regions.
Tragically, the challenges do not always end with death. One of my models who passed away from natural causes; despite the life she lived, her conservative family reclaimed her body, removed her breasts, and buried her as a man—erasing her true self in her final moments."
