SIGNS – In the natural world there is both pattern and singularity.
Whist making these images I am drawn to the irregularities along with conformities.
Perversely as a photographer I am always more interested in what cannot be seen rather than what can. I make images that are “constructed realities”. They are formalised patterns and arrangements along with infinite disorder that hint at a greater design in everything.

Paul Harrison's images are intended to be an expressive interpretation of time and place. The filmmaker and photographer, who is based in the U.K., is interested in portraying the natural environment, memory, and mythology. In addition, the coast and mountainous regions have always held a strong influence on him, to which he continuously returns. Harrison works with high-resolution digital and analog cameras. His images are worked on in post-production to simplify and abstract.
