About this artwork
In this work, I have fused impressionism, pop art, realism and a touch of vintage to capture the vibrant and eclectic essence of urban life. Through the use of acrylics, ink, bricks and reclaimed objects, I have constructed an urban landscape that is both a tribute and a reflection on urban space and its constant evolution. Each element, each texture, speaks of the stories and memories that inhabited spaces hold. I invite this piece to bring energy,… color and a unique story to any home, provoking conversation and admiration for the complexity and beauty of our daily interactions in the spaces we share.
The main salvaged and antique pieces I attached to the piece were an old faucet and a rusty pipe, copper wires, a pressure clock, an old door knob and some interesting crushed iron that made the difference when assembling the sun with a plastic ball inside it, all recycled.
Paula Garnett, painter, sculptor and conceptual artist, developed in an artistic environment between Brazil and Portugal. Her style is random, mixing techniques and media such as paintings, assemblages and paper mache, focusing on spontaneous creation. With the artistic reuse of elements considered disposable, her works imbue chromatic richness and varied materiality, provoking reflections on revaluation and sustainability. In each piece, Paula communicates a colorful but organized chaos, always leaving a feeling of incompleteness, suggestive of new beginnings.
