About this artwork
In this surreal city, reality and fiction merge. In the foreground, an abstract cityscape seamlessly transitions into a sea with a coastline beyond. As you look at the picture, your gaze is drawn from the hectic foreground to the calming horizon. For me, the image and its title express my longing for peace and nature amidst the often hectic and stressful city life.
The painting was exhibited in solo exhibitions in Göttingen and Bad Hersfeld in 2023… and at the ARTe art fair in Konstanz in 2024.
It has a narrow shadow gap frame made of black and blue stained wood. The sides of the picture are also painted, so it can be hung without a frame. The picture is signed on the front and back and ready to hang. The surface of the picture is finished with a UV-protective varnish.

Peter Stahr works as a painter and digital artist with a background in painting, media art, and web design, having completed his art studies in Braunschweig. He prefers acrylic and mixed media on large canvases, combining pigments, dispersions, earths, and other materials to create complex, profound works that oscillate between abstraction and representation.
