About this artwork
My fascination with the landscape is born out of a curiosity of what 'we' find attractive. I have always been drawn to the effects of light on water and land and the speed with which these effects can change and indeed manifest themselves on the landscape. Philippa Headley is a painter with a rich background in art history and formal training, primarily working in oils but also using acrylics. She has a Diploma from The Royal Society of Arts, is a graduate of Christies Fine Art Education and holds a BA (Hons) degree in Art History. Her technique is deeply expressionistic, evolving between impressionistic, abstract, and representational, often driven by intuitive responses to landscape and colour. She explores the interplay of land, sea, and atmosphere, aiming for evocative compositions that invite viewers to experience a deeply personal, emotional connection with nature’s fleeting moments.
