About this artwork
There are skies that feel like they're singing - when storm clouds become edged in brilliant gold and the whole atmosphere seems to vibrate with praise. That's what I experienced when I painted this piece: the sense that nature itself was in full celebration, offering up a hymn of glory. The heavy charcoal clouds weren't obstacles to the light but part of the song, framing and amplifying that radiant golden glow until the whole sky commanded attention.
