About this artwork
In Francesca Woodman's work "l (a) Rimbaud de la photographie", there is this desire to expand the space, which is often often confined. The cut bodies, the vague movements, the door corners and the angles of the walls, almost suggest that one can get rid of this imprisoning spatial constraint.
In the series "Francesca's ghost", which is not a tribute but a filiation, Philippe Alliet wanted to make this desire to overcome the limits of framing… a leitmotif while respecting a certain geometric rigor.
