About this artwork
In Francesca Woodman's work "l (a) Rimbaud de la photographie", there is this desire to expand the space, which is often often confined. The cut bodies, the vague movements, the door corners and the angles of the walls, almost suggest that one can get rid of this imprisoning spatial constraint.
In the series "Francesca's ghost", which is not a tribute but a filiation, Philippe Alliet wanted to make this desire to overcome the limits of framing… a leitmotif while respecting a certain geometric rigor.

« Rhythmic association-dissociation: the will to paint and to express myself differently, with the awareness of capturing our world in multiple ways, of expressing with the very essence of my life. »
Philippe Alliet is a French painter, photographer, and draftsman whose works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally. He describes the themes represented in his paintings as always being binary, translated through abstraction and figuration, and explores violence and consideration, as well as rhythmic association and dissociation. Whereas, Alliet's drawings center on the depiction of nudes and animals. He sites photography as answering to the requirements of a series, a theme, and an idea.
