About this artwork
This work is part of a series I created shortly after arriving in Rome in 2010, but I reworked it in 2026. It was initially a silhouette of the Venus of Syracuse, part of a series, and now it has become a disjointed being with its head in the clouds. I like to listen to music while I work and feel the texture of materials (like clay, and here, Sennelier oil pastels). I move around a lot and concentrate for hours, and by the end I'm exhausted.
