About this artwork
In the painting "In between trunks" you have a vision of strong autumn colors or maybe the sun in an open space. In a series of paintings Pia Andersen is focusing on the space in between something. You can trick the perception of a work by focusing on what you normally would say "lay behind", and in this way move the back to the front and vice versa.

Pia Andersen's works have been featured in solo exhibitions in her native Denmark, as well as in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Egypt, Norway, and Germany. Nature and light are her principal inspirations, though she does not seek its realistic portrayal. Instead, Andersen's paintings create a nature of their own, highlighting the positive side of living. Her artistic process is lengthy, as she takes her time building up many layers of oils on canvas.
