About this artwork
This work is part of an experimental series in which the artist seeks to deconstruct painting in the same way that a chef does in a modern kitchen, transforming the ingredients of a traditional dish into other textures, shapes and temperatures without breaking the flavors and ingredient harmonies. This deconstruction of the work occurs by combining the two main concepts of Raúl's work, painting and the transfer of images from photography. In this…
case, a classic realistic painting or drawing is made on canvas and photographed. Then I transfer that photograph printed on paper with gesso to another canvas, giving rise to the final result. In this way, the reference photograph becomes a painting and the final painting is the result of printing the photograph on the canvas.
