"Sehrose" originated from an old printed floral still life I found in a flea market hall. It immediately gave me the feeling of being trapped and wanting to be freed. It wanted to rebel. I gave the rose image an eye, and with it, a completely new identity. It is now free and back in life.
The artwork explores order and intuition, the space between confinement and freedom. It's part of the series: Moments. Hanging it in your home will remind you… every day that you can liberate yourself with small changes.
The picture has a beautiful old frame that is poetically powerful and gives the work even more strength.
My work arises from a fascination with ambivalence. Trust-distrust, freedom-order, reason-emotion, closeness-isolation and much more, all at the same time. This perspective stems from 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur and creative mind in my trade fair construction company, where responsibility, economics, structure and creative design and thinking were inextricably linked. In my works I translated these tensions into images - decisively and openly to resonance. I paint lived ambivalences.
