In a format of 177x150 cm, the figures and body fragments appear almost life-size. New visual worlds emerge in the collage-like composition of the drawing. Unmarked empty spaces, which in places appear cut out, reveal the depiction as a construction.

Rebekka Brunke works in the media of drawing, painting, and stop-motion film. She has studied at renowned art schools in Germany and abroad and has exhibited internationally. Her technique is based on collage-like compositions, combining fragments from different visual contexts and transforming them into new visual worlds and contexts. Her approach follows both planning and chance – in an investigation that puts the truth content, contexts, and contexts of different image sources to the test. In contrast to the smooth surfaces of the digitally edited images and AI-generated representations, the works reveal cracks and voids.
