About this artwork
This work is dedicated to my hometown Pisa, "La Cittadella" was the place where the "arsenal" was located.
In my work I have combined the techniques of impressionism, naivety and realism to capture this ancient fort, mixing warm shades of pink and blue that evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth. Through acrylic paint, I have explored the brightness and texture, inviting the viewer to perceive a story of time immemorial enclosed within these walls.… The painting releases a light of hope and quiet that fills every space of the house with serenity and beauty.

I'm a self-taught painter, and what sets me apart is my free and instinctive use of color, which in my work is layered to create dense textures and crowded urban landscapes. I began with more spontaneous and light-hearted works, then evolved towards a more conscious and critical approach. At the same time, I explore abstraction with works inspired by Pollock and Rothko. My Cities are born from abstract foundations. The City as a complex organism that reflects the contradictions of our time. My series explore three great fragilities: the vulnerability of cities to climate change, the wounds inflicted by man through wars and manipulated ideologies, and the inequalities between glittering centers and forgotten peripheries. I paint universal, non-geographic cities as a metaphor for the human condition: places that bear the hopes, scars, and tensions of our time.
