About this artwork
Rina lives in South Africa and December months equal summer, sun and sand. Because of Covid 19, their beaches are closed, therefore this year, December feels like snow, sleet and stony.
Rina believes that the only remedy for snow, is plenty of salt and sand. She has always loved the beach. The smell of the salty water, the wind in her face, the gentle roar of the waves, all combine to create a sense of peace and calm. She believes once your feet… have touched the warm sun drenched sand of the seashore, you will never be the same.
For her at the beach, life is different. Time doesn’t move hour by hour, but mood to moment.
She looks forward to the day when the biggest decision she has to make, is what cocktail she is going to sip on, while laying on the beach all day.
