About this artwork
This piece bursts with playful surrealism, blending soft, bubble-like forms with vivid pop art colors. Using acrylic and oil, I sculpt emotions into fluid shapes that invite curiosity and introspection. It’s a symbolic dance of lightness and depth, meant to energize any space with wonder and a touch of dreamlike joy. The whimsical yet profound energy will spark imagination and brighten your environment.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Robert-Jan Poorter is a self-taught painter working primarily in oil on canvas, sometimes incorporating acrylic backgrounds. He masterfully blends figurative neo-pop art with symbolic visual narratives, crafting compositions that oscillate between illusion and reality. His technique vividly captures the innocence of childhood clashing with the disillusionment of adulthood, particularly in his NiceCream series. Through these evocative, candy-colored worlds, he explores the ephemeral nature of happiness, filling his works with both playful optimism and a quiet, poignant melancholy that gently lingers with the viewer.
