Images from Mars brings to a close the third act of this narrative.
A series that began under the sign of an assertive domination, where nature and environments seemed bent to human submission.
Here, the image hints at something else. A new beginning, a still fragile impulse, whose scope remains uncertain. The submerged Madonna questions her own possibility of return. Will she resurface? And even if she does, will there still be a path to travel… to reach dry land again, and to materialize once more in reality?
The title also echoes the month of March, a period of demonstrations and popular uprising that followed the assassination of Yvan Colonna. A time of tension, rupture, but also of projection.
Images from Mars is situated precisely in this in-between space: where history falters, where something tries to emerge, without certainty, but with the necessity
