About this artwork
As a native of the Allgäu region, I have always been fascinated by mountains. When I lived and worked in Switzerland for several years around the turn of the millennium, this fascination deepened even further, resulting in an entire series of mountain paintings—some depicting well-known peaks such as the Matterhorn, others portraying imaginary mountains like this BLOXBERG. A magical mountain of primal forces and a legendary gathering place for witches,… where Mephisto in Goethe’s Faust seeks to satisfy Faust’s curiosity and lure him into a world of sensual pleasure and oblivion.
