About this artwork
The portrait as a space for resonance –
Portraiture plays a central role in my work. Regardless of the technique I use, my aim is never simply to reproduce a face, but to make a person's inner self visible through their outward appearance. My portraits are not representations in the classical sense. They transcend the purely external and attempt to reveal the invisible aspects of a person: their inner tension, vulnerability, strength, or inner turmoil.… Often, the face is only recognizable in fragments—overlaid, shadowed, dissolved in light and color. This is precisely the case here in the image fusion ANTLITZ 2, which magically draws in its viewers and engages in a dialogue with them through its multifaceted nature.
