PORTRAIT ON AN ANCIENT DOOR. It's the first door on which I painted a face. She is a young girl with a look that captured me as soon as I saw her. And her mouth is disarmingly beautiful. Now she is a young woman doctor who has retained the characteristics of when she was a teenager, mysterious and sweet.

Italian artist Rossana Borzelli comes from a Roman family of artisans and artists and has always expressed her deepest emotions through this medium. Her striking portraits are inspired by her life experiences and those of female artists of yester years. Their silhouettes are ethereal, emotive and evocative of the struggles they encountered. Working with a diverse range of organic and traditional painting materials Rossana's pieces have great depth and texture, enduring totems to their subjects.
