The artist takes us beyond the conventional representation of women that prevails in our Western societies, transcending the mere reflection of a narrative image. Poised between figuration and abstraction, the composition, colors, and materials of these works reveal the image of woman from deliberately different perspectives. She elevates states of mind and being with complexity and unfailing precision.
Starting… with an image or photograph, the artist works with raw materials, breaking them down into several layers. The techniques she typically uses are collage, engraving, and acrylic painting. She sometimes incorporates inkjet printing, using a random technique depending on the subject matter, which she then finalizes with digital processing. This series also features charcoal, watercolor pencils, and oil pastels.
