About this artwork
Through this trip, I immerse myself in the atmosphere of the city and its inhabitants in order to discover how San Francisco was one of the high places of this new culture born in the early 1960s: the "Beat Generation", an artistic and literary movement that continues to shine today and influence our way of thinking.
These images take us on a journey of discovery through the different districts of the city.

Roxane Stroobant is a prizewinning artist from France whose works have been featured in exhibitions nationally. A graduate from art college in Belgium, she combines photography, painting, and collage. Roxane starts with an image and adds various elements to create vivid textures and surprising elements within the composition.
