About this artwork
In our modern world partners operate in different work dimensions. Some work from home, others go out to work. So how do you structure the proximity that is vital to maintaining a loving relationship? Our subjects could work from either end of the couch, but sit close together. Even the dogs know the value of staying close. The work may be different for each other, but it does not separate their relationship.
There is a lesson here for partners who… go out to work. Structure your day, year or life to be close to your opposite number. Little efforts like this enhance your happiness.

Roy Tate is a self-taught painter who began creating art later in life, drawing inspiration from personal experiences and his wife’s unwavering resilience. She died in 2022 but left a legacy of support and achievement.
His technique is unapologetically naive and unpolished, blending imaginative storytelling with evocative, narrative-driven compositions. Through his paintings, he invites viewers to lose themselves in the underlying stories and to reflect on the surprises and complexity found within every human journey.
As Albert Einstein said, "all you really need to make you happy is something to be enthusiastic about."
So, look at Roy's paintings as markers of his enthusiasm. HE PAINTS TO MAKE HIMSELF HAPPY.
