Roy Tate is a self-taught painter who began creating art later in life, drawing inspiration from personal experiences and his wife’s unwavering resilience. She died in 2022 but left a legacy of support and achievement.
His technique is unapologetically naive and unpolished, blending imaginative storytelling with evocative, narrative-driven compositions. Through his paintings, he invites viewers to lose themselves in the underlying stories and to reflect on the surprises and complexity found within every human journey.
As Albert Einstein said, "all you really need to make you happy is something to be enthusiastic about."
So, look at Roy's paintings as markers of his enthusiasm. HE PAINTS TO MAKE HIMSELF HAPPY.
At Singulart, we collaborate with partner galleries to offer artists fresh insights into their work. These galleries can explore our roster of artists, curate them into unique collections, and engage with their artworks by leaving comments.
